Clarifier is a tool / place to clear cloudy raw water (eg river water, ground water) by means of precipitation, to speed up sedimentation, chemical coagulants and flocculants are usually added so that coagulation and flocculation processes occur in the water.

 

Coagulation is the separation of suspended solids in water through a chemical process. Flocculation is the process of combining small flocs to form larger particles with the hope that the larger the solid clumps, the greater the resulting depositional velocity.
